Default 2006 Volvo XC90 Executive (cheaper tax) £8900

Hello all,
i've bitten the bullet and decided to list my beloved XC90.
Photos here - https://goo.gl/photos/sF8gUPwUpH4791U39 - easier than uploading them here.

I'll be listing on Autotrader by the end of the week, so if anyone is interested, give me a buzz/text (07958 001800) or message me.

I've just spent the weekend valeting it head to tail and giving it a service. I didn't get time to polish it, so thats the only thing that in my opinion will need doing over the next few months - but even without a polish it still looks good.
Volvo XC90 2.4 D5 (185) Executive Geartronic 6 speed semi auto.

Registered 01 March 2006 (lower road tax category – registered before new system on 23rd March 2006 where later models are £450pa. We currently pay £280/290 for 12 months road tax.

Current Mileage 118,157, but may increase as being used daily.

It is Titanium (Metallic) Grey.

Tax to 28/02/2016 & MOT to 01/03/2015

Serviced 21/06/2015 @ 118,157 / Mobil Formula 3000 Fully Synthetic
Serviced 03/05/2014 @ 110538 / Castrol Edge

Being the “Executive” model it has the following external features:

185bhp 2.4 Diesel engine, with 6 speed “Geartronic” (Semi Automatic) gearbox;
Xenon lights with wash function;
Genuine Volvo Side steps / Running Boards;
2nd & 3rd row dark smoke tinted privacy glass;
Silver/alloy roof rails;
19” Genuine Volvo R-design Alloy wheels with Nokian Winter tyres;
Genuine Volvo Fixed tow bar with 13 pin Volvo electrics (i had this fitted myself for £500 and this car and towbar has never towed a caravan/horsebox or trailer. I only ever use this for using a Volvo Towbar mounted bike carrier which i am keeping for the next family wagon);
Electric folding & heated wing mirrors;

Internally it benefits from the following features:

Deep pile Volvo car mats all around;
Luxury Executive Grey Leather all around, with White piping. This is in immaculate condition. I have used seat covers in the 2nd row for the past 6+ years to protect the leather from the child car seats.
Heated Leather front seats;
Fully electric front seats;
15 Speaker Dolby Pro Logic Volvo “Premium” sound system with minidisc player, ipod/iphone/usb connector. (the in dash 6 CD changer does work fine - i had forgotten to switch it from Ipod to CD player); AM/FM radio.
Rear stereo control panel (allows 2nd & 3rd row to listen to their own music).

In built FRIDGE between the front seats.

Dension Gateway 500 audio addition – allows iPod/iPhone/usb/bluetooth function whist still retaining steering wheel function.

Steering wheel audio & satnav controls.
Cruise control;
Height adjustable steering wheel;
4 electric windows;
Remote central locking
Dual Zone Climate Control which comes through ice cold
Rear Parking Sensors
Auto dipping rear view camera
Inbuilt sat nav system – this is currently working fine after i replaced (may 2014) the satellite navigation component.

Electric front & rear windows.
2nd row ventilation.
2nd row in car tv’s - these have now been removed as it made the 2nd row look a bit too "aftermarket" as i had used home made brackets on the headrest.
Rear luggage cover
Rear load cargo net
Spacesave Spare wheel (never used)
Inbuilt child car booster seat.
Boot 12v socket;
2nd row 12v socket
Front 12v socket
Alarm & immobiliser.
In built phone – just needs a sim car to use the phone.
Loads of lights and speakers.

Brand new Bosch 100AH battery with 830cca fitted on 20/05/2014. This has a 5 year guarantee - the genuine Volvo (Unipart made) ones have lower spec and only a 3 year guarantee.

There are a couple of minor chips in the front windscreen, although these have been there for 6+ years and have never got worse. They were fine for previous and the last MOT a few months back, and were not even noted. they were repaired (filled) by autoglass in 2009 - the windscreen is fine and does not need replacement - i am meerly pointing out the chips - i do not want them to replace the windscreen as i do not want to have a non volvo screen.

The 4x4 Haldex system works fine – I have never had a problem with this in mud or snow over the past 5 years.
The geartronic gearbox is also perfect, as well as the steering and suspension.

Full Volvo main dealer service history to March 2009, then went to Independent Volvo Specialist located in Cadley Marlborough. Last VAT registered Garage service was in 2011. I have since serviced it as per Volvo recommendations since - and have receipts for all items to prove. Serviced with fully synthetic oil change (Castrol Edge) in March 2013 at 100915 and Serviced on 03/05/2014 @ 110538, and again on 20/06/2015 @ 118157

A full breakdown of the services done are:

17/02/2006 – 15 miles – Squire Furneaux Volvo
17/03/2007 – 19160 – Squire Furneaux Volvo
22/02/2008 – 38090 – Doves Horsham Volvo
12/12/2008 – 57953 – Squire Furneaux Volvo
11/09/2009 – 70871 – Cadley Garage – Independent Volvo Specialist

MOT’s on file to verify mileage:
04/02/2009 – 62719
05/02/2010 – 75573
28/02/2011 – 86289
25/02/2012 – 93307
02/03/2013 – 100915
28/02/2014 – 109244

It had replacement Discs, Pads & handbrake Shoes in Autumn 2011 (around 25/30,000 miles ago). It had 2 new replacement Genuine Volvo HID Xenon bulbs in Dec 2012 at £100 each (these last at least 6 years with full Daytime Running). In February 2014 I had a new wiper motor and mechanism fitted along with new wipers as the motor failed 2 days before the MOT.

On the last MOT there was 1 advisory which was “Child Seat fitted not allowing full inspection of adult belt”.

I have been running 2 sets of wheels on the car. I use 19” Volvo R Design alloys with Nokian WRG2’s during winter months. I use 18” Goodyear Wrangler/Pirelli Scorpion during summer months - i have recently sold the 18" wheels.

The Winter Tyres were replaced in November 2012. They have the following tread depths on them (across the tread pattern)

They have over 60% of the usable tread left. I’ve done around 15,000 on these so far and they have only used 2-3mm tread. They cost £776 when new.

I will be looking to sell the car with the following additional accessories:
Dension gateway 500 addition
Genuine Volvo fixed tow bar with electrics
Side steps/running boards
Genuine Volvo aero roof bars

These accessories alone would be worth more than £1100. If you did not want them i can remove them.

It has been remapped with a MTE package which takes power to 220bhp and torque to 500NM according to Kalmer-Union who specialise in Volvo tuning which supplied the software. If the buyer did not want this i can arrange for it to be put back to standard at no cost (within 1-2 week), but after you drive it compared to a standard car you will not want to go back. The mid range torque is certainly improved which makes overtaking a breeze. This has been installed since 2010 and there have been no negative effects – when driven sedately it has returned over 34mpg on a run. Insurance is hardly affected - we're both 34 and pay c.£330 fully comp (protected) with the remap with a major insurer.

Reason for sale - my 3 kids are now growing up (8/6/3) so i think i can manage with an estate car - hopefully going to a V70 as i still like the Volvo brand (this is the 6th Volvo i've had) and i've owned this since March 2009).

In summary, internally this car looks almost new – I would rate it as 9/10. Externally – its done 110k miles and is 8 years old – I would rate it as 8/10. It could do with a proper waxing as I tend to just soap and rinse it. I know of no mechanical issues as the engine/brakes/gearbox/4x4 system/wheels & tyres are all in good order.

Whilst I understand the price I am asking is at the top end of the market, I believe this is a top end car. I have 2 other cars so not in a desperate rush to sell, but would like to sell it over the next couple of months.
Other SE/SE Lux models with similar age/mileage are on trader for £8000-£8500. As mines an Executive and has just been serviced which should mean that the Buyer doesn't need to do any work on it for months, i'm wanting to get a price around £8900.

Please email me on stuart@stuowen.co.uk or phone me on 07958001800 (8am to 9pm) if you have any questions or queries or would like to view.

Car is located in SN3 (Stratton) Swindon (5 mins Junction 15 M4)

Check they all fit before you do something you'll regret! I didn't have much luck with other models and 3 child seats in a row before choosing the XC90. The centre booster is a vote winner!

Default Relisted - unfortunately original buyer could not proceed

Over the past week.....

the original buyer had to withdraw from the purchase.
i had a wobble and changed my mind on selling - so listed my replacement V70.
changed my mind back and now certain i am going to sell the XC90.

i've therefore updated/corrected a few errors to the description below and will now be looking to sell as per this description below.

Also about to go on Autotrader too.

Hello all,

After several false starts over the past 2 years when I’ve decided to sell then changed my mind, i've bitten the bullet and decided to list my beloved XC90.

Photos here - https://goo.gl/photos/sF8gUPwUpH4791U39 - easier than uploading them here.

I've just spent the weekend valeting it head to tail and giving it an oil and filter (Oil/Air/Cabin) service. I haven’t had time to polish it, so thats the only thing that in my opinion will need doing over the next few months - but even without a polish it still looks good.

Volvo XC90 2.4 D5 (185) Executive Geartronic 6 speed semi auto. Geartronic allows either fully automatic use, or slide to semi automatic mode and you can manually control the automatic gearbox up/down.

Registered 01 March 2006 (lower road tax category – registered before new emissions system on 23rd March 2006 whereas later models are £450pa. We currently pay £290 for 12 months road tax.

Current Mileage 118,157, but may increase slightly as being used a couple of miles a week until sold.

It is Titanium (Metallic) Grey. It has a few light scratches, but certainly a lot better than is usually expected from a 9 year old car. The wheels are in very good condition and have cleaned up well – these wheels are Genuine Volvo ones off the V8 model and were new in 2009 – I think they make it a little more sporty. The side steps have a bit of road rash on the front leading edge from usual wear and tear (road chippings being flung up from the road – nothing out of the ordinary for a car without mudflaps.

Being the “Executive” model it has the following external features:

185bhp 2.4 Diesel engine, with 6 speed “Geartronic” (Semi Automatic) gearbox;
Xenon lights with wash function;
Genuine Volvo Side steps / Running Boards;
2nd & 3rd row dark smoke tinted privacy glass;
Silver/alloy roof rails;
19” Genuine Volvo V8 Alloy wheels with Nokian Winter tyres;
Genuine Volvo Fixed tow bar with 13 pin Volvo electrics (i had this fitted myself for c.£500 in 2012. This car and towbar have never towed a caravan/horsebox/trailer. I only ever use the towbar for using a Volvo Towbar mounted bike carrier which i am keeping for the next family wagon);
Electric folding & heated wing mirrors;

Internally it benefits from the following features:

Deep pile Volvo car mats all around;
Luxury Executive Grey Leather all around, with White piping. This is in immaculate condition. I have used seat covers in the 2nd row for the past 6+ years to protect the leather from the child car seats.
Heated Leather front seats;
Fully electric front seats;
15 Speaker Dolby Pro Logic Volvo “Premium” sound system with minidisc player, ipod/iphone/usb connector.
In dash 6 CD changer
AM/FM radio.
Rear stereo control panel (allows 2nd & 3rd row to listen to their own music).
Dension Gateway 500 audio addition – allows iPod/iPhone/usb/Bluetooth (Bluetooth is not that good though) function whist still retaining steering wheel function.
In built FRIDGE between the front seats.

Steering wheel audio & satnav controls.
Cruise control;
Height adjustable steering wheel;
4 electric windows;
Remote central locking
Dual Zone Climate Control which comes through ice cold
Rear Parking Sensors
Auto dipping rear view camera
Inbuilt sat nav system which was replaced in May 2014 when the original stopped working.

2nd row ventilation.
Rear luggage cover
Rear load cargo net
Spacesave Spare wheel (never used)
Inbuilt child car booster seat.
Boot 12v socket;
2nd row 12v socket
Front 12v socket
Alarm & immobiliser.
In built phone – just needs a sim car to use the phone – I usually divert mine from the mobile to car sim card to take cars in the car; then use a pay as you go sim for phoning out.
Loads of internal lights and speakers.

They were repaired (filled) by autoglass in 2009 - the windscreen is fine and does not need replacement - i am merely pointing out the chips - i do not want them to replace the windscreen as i do not want to have a non volvo screen and the risk of damage to the car when removing/replacing the existing one.

Home serviced with fully synthetic oil change (Castrol Edge) in March 2013 at 100915 and home Serviced on 03/05/2014 @ 110538, and again on 20/06/2015 @ 118157.

A full breakdown of the services done are:

17/02/2006 – 15 miles – Squire Furneaux Volvo
17/03/2007 – 19160 – Squire Furneaux Volvo
22/02/2008 – 38090 – Doves Horsham Volvo
12/12/2008 – 57953 – Squire Furneaux Volvo
11/09/2009 – 70871 – Cadley Garage – Independent Volvo Specialist
27/08/2010 – 82137 – Cadley Garage – Independent Volvo Specialist
20/12/2010 - 84376 CAMBELT CHANGE - Johnsons Volvo - Swindon
07/09/2011 – 91013 – Cadley Garage – Independent Volvo Specialist
16/02/2013 – 100915 – Own service with Genuine Volvo parts, Castrol Edge Fully Synthetic Oil and receipts
03/05/2014 - 110538 - Own service with Genuine Volvo parts, Castrol Edge Fully Synthetic Oil and receipts
20/06/2015 - 118157 - Own service, Mobil Formula 3000 Fully Synthetic Oil and receipts

Current MOT is valid to 01/03/2016 (8 months).

MOT’s on file to verify mileage:
04/02/2009 – 62719
05/02/2010 – 75573
28/02/2011 – 86289
25/02/2012 – 93307
02/03/2013 – 100915
28/02/2014 – 109244
16/02/2015 – 115636 (no advisories)

It had replacement Discs, Pads & handbrake Shoes in Autumn 2011 (around 25/30,000 miles ago). It had 2 new replacement Genuine Volvo HID Xenon bulbs in Dec 2012 at £100 each (proper Volvo spec ones should last at least 6 years with full Daytime Running). In February 2014 I had a new wiper motor and mechanism fitted along with new wipers as the motor failed 2 days before the MOT.

On the second to last MOT (2014) there was 1 advisory which was “Child Seat fitted not allowing full inspection of adult belt”.

Until recently I have been running 2 sets of wheels on the car. I have used 19” Volvo V8 alloys with Nokian WRG2’s during winter months and used 18” Goodyear Wrangler/Pirelli Scorpion during summer months - i have recently sold the 18" wheels so the car is for sale with the 19” only.

The Winter Tyres were replaced in November 2012. They have the following tread depths on them (across the tread pattern).

Front Driver – 5.89mm / 5.96mm / 5.66mm
Front Passenger – 5.64mm / 6.13mm / 5.59mm
Rear Passenger – 5.99mm / 6.28mm / 6.46mm
Rear Driver – 5.87mm / 6.21mm / 6.18mm

They have over 60% of the usable tread left. I’ve done around 20,000 miles in the past 2.75 years, so these tyres have done around 13/14,000 miles mainly heavier town work due to me changing the tyres in April/October. They have only used 2-2.5mm tread over this distance so considering they have 4mm left this should mean you’ve got around 20-25k miles remaining in them. They cost £776 when new for this premium brand.

I will be looking to sell the car with the following additional accessories:
Dension gateway 500 addition
Genuine Volvo fixed tow bar with electrics
Side steps/running boards

Genuine Volvo aero roof bars are available at additional cost if you wish to have them.

These accessories alone would be worth more than £1100. If you did not want the Dension/Side Steps/Tow Bar can be removed if you do not want them.
It has been remapped with a MTE package which takes power to 220bhp and torque to 500NM by a Specialised Volvo tuning company which supplied the software. If the buyer did not want this i can arrange for it to be put back to standard at no cost (within 1-2 week), but after you drive it compared to a standard car you will not want to go back. It could do with a proper waxing as I tend to just soap and rinse it. I know of no mechanical issues as the engine/brakes/gearbox/4x4 system/wheels & tyres are all in good order and should last some time before the new buyer is likely to incur further costs.

Whilst I understand the price I am asking is at the top end of the market, I believe this is a top end car. I have 2 other cars so not in a desperate rush to sell, but would like to sell it over the next couple of months.
Other SE/SE Lux models with similar age/mileage are on the Internet for £8000-£8500. As mines an Executive with all the above accessories and has just been serviced which should mean that the Buyer doesn't need to do any work on it for months, i'm wanting to get a price around £8900.

Car is located in SN3 (Stratton) Swindon (5 mins Junction 15 M4)

I have both keys.
Log book held and in my name.
No finance outstanding.

Payment – I live in Swindon – I’d prefer cash on collection, but appreciate it’s a lot of cash to handle, so I am happy to go to your bank branch with you once you’ve inspected the vehicle and are happy with it to do a bank branch transfer to my account. Most branches in town are open on Saturday to around 2/3pm.

no, already got myself a V70 T5. I'd love to keep the XC90 but as its rarely used - as wife uses a smaller car for 90%+ trips around town i couldn't justify that one being sat on the drive unused most of the time. I'll miss it - so much so i started the sale process 2 years back and each time withdrew it from the market - but this time i've got a replacement which i'm happy with so the XC now has to go.
