Default Towplug Electrical Probs and Bulb Failure Flickering

I have an H reg 940 GLE Estate and had problems with the towplug electrics. It is a Volvo fitted one Dual 7 pin Plugs. the towboard lit up like Disc lights and found that the one i think was Earth was getting a 12v feed so earthed iit out on hitch as had to do an emergency tow and got the in dicators and brake circuits working and sufficed with that in Daytime from Horsted keynes to Nottingham. But now when selecting Rh indicators the bulb Failure flicks on when the Indicator lights are on the off sequence. Tried to load Volvo Information system 2005 and crashed pc as result. Any advice appreciated.

Moved this to the towing section for better response.

What colour was the wire that you put to earth. The white wire is the earth pin 3 on the socket & should be connected to a good earth on the car chassis at the other end
this should help you out.

To get a recovery done i disconnected the white wire off the female towplug and put in an emergency earth onto the tow bracket but the tailights still don't work. The bulb failure maybe flickering because of a faulty earth on the righthand light cluster but not sure as haven't had time to look at fully. all the lights seem to work so when i get will give report.

If the tow socket wiring has been done correctly It should have no influence on the bulb fail unit at all becuse this is by passed with correct volvo wiring ..

The fault is probably a dirty connection on the relavent rear light unit ..
