Default Sharp edges xc60 19 plate

Reaching under passenger side seat from rear seat footwell today cut finger on front seat runner ( area where rear passenger feet go ) I noticed niether seat runner had plastic covering on the ends leaving sharp edges where steel runner was machine pressed, drivers seat does have protective covering
Any owners out there with similar?
Is my car missing protective coverings on seat runners or are the seat runners poor standard.
I can't help thinking, in a front end accident, unprotected feet would be badly injured.
Passenger seat in non electric.
