Does it have to be a GLT? There is a GLS on eBay 1983 that will be a lot rarer than a GLT. They seem to be the most common ones to crop up.

You gotta keep an eye out on forums, ebay etc

The GLT is a bit special, I certainly would not want a GLS in its place but I have had them in the past. I converted my GLE saloon to GLT.. then Turbo

There are only 45 on the road in the UK, the rest need restoration work.

How is the GLT special? Personall opinion? I think the interior is drab compared to the GLE and it is exactly the same engine as a GLEi. Apart from being 1" lower (apparently I don't know if this is true) but then just whack some lowering springs and blocks on. To be honest the GLT is my least favourite.

The downside to the injection cars is 35 year old fuel injection technology... in some respects it's worse than a carb (throttle response, limited fuel economy on long runs etc).

You've got the best of both worlds Tony, given your upgraded engine and electrics!

There's currently an ocean blue metallic one on autotrader for £2850. Tidy but by no means mint and no service history from 1992....

Cheers

John

Looks tidy! I ought to probably sell my GLT (one too many!) but it'd have to go to the right owner. Last thing I'd want for it to end up wrapped around a tree or scraping along the ground...!
