Unhappy S60 Misfire

I took my 2003 s60 t5 for its MOT on the 12th September and it passed its emissions etc no problems (the readings excellent). The day after I was driving it at speed on the motorway and the Engine management light started flashing, it went off after 15 seconds, then on my return home as I accelerated foot flat down, the engine management light came on again, and power seem to lag. I took it straight to a garage as the light remained on this time, the faults came back on the computer as a catalytic converter fault and a misfire on cylinder 2.

The chap at the garage said that it would be the cat, but would that cause a misfire? Which is cylinder two as you look into the engine bay from the front?

All help would be appreciated in order to get my T5 firing on all cylinders again.

Might want to post this in the S60 section....

However, having recently had similar problems with a 4 cylinder engine, the things to check are obviously plugs, leads and coil pack. None of these helped with mine though, as it turned out to be a very buggered (and expensive) exhaust valve which had started to disintegrate...

Good luck!
