Default V70 abs light on

Hi. Just got a 2000 V70 2.4MK1. ABS light on, no judder, discs and pads ok, rings all look good but heavy brake pedal and brakes do not feel great. Do I go straight to a recondition of the ABS Pump?
Thanks

NO , find a local forum member & ask politely for the codes ( if any ) to be read . I find that many ABS faults are A) defective tone rings that look OK , B) sensors with metal junk covering the magnetic end & C) stuffed wiring .

Always start simply , clean away metallic junk with old tooth brush from sensor & tone ring , look for any places where debris is built up between "teeth" of tone ring as this can lead to an abnormal signal & odd ABS functions

Thanks will give it a try.Any thoughts on the heavy pedal, do the V70 brakes tend to feel different without ABS working?

Not sure about pedal weight , mine is P1 V70 & not had a ABS problem . To the best of my recollecting , duff ABS does not lead to a heavier pedal feel .

Just off to sabotage my mates P2 v70 , if i can find him & report back soonest

Steve
