XR650L, the USA market electric start version...the best bet is to buy one in the US.

I like the simplicity of the XR600, it's as reliable as a hammer - well proven in the USA.

That's the puppy, I had a new one on order but got screwed on the final price going up before delivery so went sour on the idea.
The early Dominator was kick and electric start, dunno if the xr650l is, depending on year I suppose. The Dominator engine is the super reliable one AFAIK, but as with be all big singles top end oiling is crucial.
I like ccm 604 dual sports with the 650 suziki but hear stories of poor welding...

Apart from some less than legal riding as a yoof, I came to be a biker quite late in life.

Honda 125 - and took my test.

Moved up to a Honda 250 Super Dream and did loads of miles on that (with occasional commutes between Essex and the Lake District which made me ache a bit (OK, a lot) in the knees and bum. And then flogged it and gave up again for a while.

Moved to Hampshire and got a Honda VF750 (Jap import that hated left-hand bends!) to commute to/from work (90 minutes+ in the car... 40 minutes on the bike).

Had to give up because a dodgy left knee did not like getting cold a bike after an operation - so sold it.

I'd love to use two wheels again; but that knee does not like being cold!

Got myself a YBR125 about 3 years ago and did my cbt,

Then had that a couple of years until i passed my test,

Now had a 07 cb600 hornet (last of the old shape carb models) in bright orange about a year,

Wasn't the most confident rider after passing my test but its getting there now and really beginning to enjoy the freedom

I have a couple of classic British bikes.
One was my grandads he bought new in 1953. ( Fortunately a widow wasn't made.)
and her Prince of a brother( in boxes awaiting restoration / a miracle.)
I have my old Rd 500. Awaiting restoration after going through the florists window in Market Rasen in 1990.
I also have a rather nice Harley soft tail bobber awaiting re commissioning.
One Day!

1979 Yamaha XS1100. Used regularly in the summer, very reliable
1983 Yamaha XJ1100 Maxim. Sleeping peacefully until I retire
1999 Yamaha 1200 V-Max. Lovely and ugly at the same time. But quick with it.

Glad to see we are not all clichéd Harley guys out there.
