Default 940 Valve Seals ?

Has anyone got a set of these they'd be willing to sell me ? I know they come in head gasket sets, but I'm not spending £36 on ebay just for 8 rubber rings.
Alternatively, where can I find some ?

It's the things which sit under the tappet buckets, not the oil seals. There are some on ebay in the Netherlands, but the postage is silly money.

On ebay.com aka ebay USA :

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8-Volvo-24...4AAOxy0x1TTn-d

About £20 posted for a set of 8, you could also try Volvo :

http://www.volvopartswebstore.com/pr...6/3514432.html

That gives the two part numbers, 1219648 and 3514432, it seems they were fitted to a whole host of engines (including Penta Marine Engines) from 1976-95 so would think the Volvo dealer may have them separately and based on the $ price in the Volvo Parts Webstore, i'd guess they'd be about £2.50 each - again that comes to about £20 so it's swings and roundabouts really.

What's wrong with the ones you already have?

They've dried up, cracked and lost their bounce. I had a set but I gave them to a friend whose 940 had the same problem. Mine came in a head gasket set I bought when I replaced the head gasket on the wentworth, but that one didn't need them.

I'd just buy a headset and keep it for when it'll eventually be required!

You could try adding some ATF to the engine oil, it's good at reviving seals. Will also help keep your engine clean inside too.

Has anyone got a spare set ?

The last ones I had came in a small white and blue packet which also contained the valve guide oil seals. The brand was Victor Reinz.

These people deal with Victor Reinz :

https://www.kimbercarparts.co.uk/vol...ogue/car-parts

They only list the head set and a couple of other gaskets but give them a call, they may be able to source the Victor Reinz dampers from Germany - be warned it takes about 3 weeks! They sourced some odd gaskets for my Rovers from VR and it took 3 weeks.
