Default Stainless steel exhaust welding repair -Hull (E Yorks)

Does anybody know where I could get a cracked stainless steel exhaust welded in the Hull or Beverley area please?

I have a 1998 V70 Tdi auto which still has the original factory fitted exhaust which is, I believe, made of stainless steel. It's certainly only weakly magnetic. The downpipe has cracked between the turbo connecting flange and the flexible joint before the catalytic converter. The crack appears to have started at one of the bosses used to mount one of the heatshields.

A trawl of the internet hasn't thrown up anything particularly useful so far.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Look for someone doing tig welding.

Tig is easier to adapt to differing materials than mig, a chap local to me uses it to weld steel, stainless and aluminium simply by using differing filler rods rather than the compleat set up change of MIG.
If you could get the part off the car it would make things easier, many welders don't want to tackle car welding due to the inherent risks of damage to the vehicle while those that will weld on cars do not often have the equipment to tackle stainless.

Many thanks. That part of the exhaust will have to come off; access is impossible to weld it in situ. It would also need a thorough cleaning inside and out. I'll try a search for TIG welders in the area.
