Default ECU v OBD

Hi all. Again!

Right, my battery is fully charged so I do not have a voltage issue. At static anyway, as the damn thing doesn't start... however...

Quick straw poll really- if two seperate OBD's have been tried and the system refuses to fez up as to whats up with it, or even allow a connection, are we looking at a new ECU??

Is the main engine relay FMA2 in the box behind the air filter operating when you turn the ignition on?

Does the fuel pump run?

Check the green wire at any of the fuel injectors, should read battery volts to ground.

Chris,

mike plugged in and came up with the following

- CEM 1A62
- CEM 1A5D

so either no power supply to ecu, no earth or open circuit...

At static anyway,
Pretty Obvious Question .... Does it start with a "Jump" ???.... A Failed Battery (With low Cranking Amps) can cause all sorts of "Odd" problems My Old P38 Rangie used to throw up "Gearbox Fault" I eventually tracked it down to a duff Battery cell.. (It just wasn't pushing the correct amount of Amps out to the various ECU's ect ...) taking all the "Available Amps" to Crank the engine & run ect...

I had trouble with a car i bought last weekend, the kid jumped it off before i got there and had it on tick-over, it would rev and behave perfect at standstill, but when i got it rolling it was cutting out and dash going mental.

rang a dealer and they said try battery, got it changed at side of road and been fine for last 300 miles, so seems like dodgy battery's can cause havoc!
