rang a dealer and they said try battery, got it changed at side of road and been fine for last 300 miles, so seems like dodgy battery's can cause havoc!
TOTALLY aggee Tash ..... There are soooo many ECU's & Things on modern cars if yer battery is poor "Under Load" they will throw Every fault you can think of ...

Like my old P38 Rangie the gearbox was "Last out of the Loom/furthest to travel" so it suffered from "Low Amps" first....

I honestly feel an awful lot of the problems we suffer are caused by "DUFF BATTERIES" & poor "Under Load" performance..

I was also sure to get a battery that matched the one on the car, as what their computer threw up at the motor factors when given reg was smaller (amps/hour and all that) and might not have given enough power under cranking!

Pretty Obvious Question .... Does it start with a "Jump" ???.... A Failed Battery (With low Cranking Amps) can cause all sorts of "Odd" problems My Old P38 Rangie used to throw up "Gearbox Fault" I eventually tracked it down to a duff Battery cell.. (It just wasn't pushing the correct amount of Amps out to the various ECU's ect ...) taking all the "Available Amps" to Crank the engine & run ect...
doesn't start at all!! regardless of which battery i've tried, or with jump pack, so theres a wire adrift somewhere

Radge,

The 4th entry on that says "Battery Voltage signal too low" also in the top right corner it says "Voltage 11.5 Volts" ....

A good battery should "Stand" at 12.5 to 13.9 Volts ... I'd be looking seriously at yer main Battery Earth Connection mate ...

99.999% of those faults can be traced back to the main Earth off the battery being Corroded ..
