Unhappy Electric Probs

Hi ive got a 02 s80 d5 with a detachable towbar i used it for the first time this weekend as only owned the car a week to pull my caravan for easter break i plugged the black plug in for the lights etc and only had one side of my lights working but had both brake lights and indicators working it was just the running lights that werent working properly just wondered if anyone on ere had any similar experience or could shed some light on the problem

was this on the car /caravan or both. is it 13pin or 7 pin. check for power at the pins on the car for the function that you want, check all bulbs on the van.

Hi mike its the 13 pin plug all the pins have been checked and seem to be power in all the right places and the bulbs are in working order this problem is been a head screatcher all weekend just glad i werent towing in the dark

If theres power to the pins on the 12N socket then its a problem with the Caravan NOT the car

What type of 'van do you have I may have a Wiring Diagram .. (From Memory I think each side of the van is Fused Seperatly) Well its was on my Fleetwood Colchester.. As long as you have power on Pins 5 & 7 (From the car) it NOT a "Car Fault"

Thanks for the responses guys ive checked bulbs fuses cleaned pins checked wiring caravan electrics are fine checked themon dads car so im well and truly confused
