Default Battery - Should I be worried??

I will be back in the V70 on Thursday for the first time in 3 months. The car won't have moved in that time and is sitting under cover in a garage.

I am guessing the battery will be OK - what do you guys think???

Do not want to temp fate - but be prepared with a starter/booster pack.

No doubt our cars will have some fangled special procedure for the day that the battery does run down/out.

You must report back after your experience.

It does - open doors - key in ignition - turn on stereo (loud) - listen to music for entire evening while bbqing at LeMans - music dies - check car - display says something along the lines of:

Battery Saving Mode On

I'd agree, 3 months is a long time to leave the battery with no activity with it connected to the car, I would be very surprised if it's not flat.

Personally I would consider charging it before trying to start it as that will also guarantee it's had a full charge rather than being partially topped up by the alternator.

Three months is an awfully long time, I left a Saxo for around three months, and the battery was dead, to be prepared .

So Dodgyken - what was the outcome. We didn't get to hear and we're waiting with baited breath!

Sorry for the delay - I had a hectic 3 days when I was back in the office last week - and only returned from Brno (WTCC) at 3am this morning.

Walked into the underground garage to see the car covered in a thick layer of dust. Quick click and the mirrors opened and doors unlocked. Key in - start button - fired up no problem.

Service light has come on though!! Which I suspect is down to it not being used for so long - and the battery draining right down.

She then managed an average of 27mpg with the 1850kg trailer on the back (over 600 miles).
