Default Are all 1.8s GDI?

I'm looking at buying a 2003 V40 1.8 Auto., I understand the 1.8 GDI won't stand E5 petrol but the 1.8 will. Can anyone tell me how you can tell if it is a GDI model?
and were there two different 1.8 models or are all 1.8s GDI? Thanks for any info.

The GDI will have "GDI" written on the engine cover:

Regular 1.8:

Thank you T5R92011, That is brilliant. If I'd gone and looked at the car even I couldn't have missed that .
After talking to the seller on the phone he turned out to be an idiot who wanted way too much money for it so I didn't bother. Pretty glad actually as it seems I could be about to buy a very nice S80 and looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of a Volvo.
Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

If you have the registration number of the car, you could check online to see what CC the engine is .. The volvo engine is 1783cc & the mitsubishi GDI is 1834cc. The volvo (1783)engine is ok with E10 petrol, but i use the old E5 when i can get it, as there is no financial advantage in using E10, if worked out at pence per mile, due to worse MPG on E10.
