D5 (2005 on) - XC70. 2.4 2013.D5. Oil Level Check.

Hi, I have tried to follow handbook to check engine oil level without success, I get to the wee picture of oil check but nothing happens. Is what looks like a small dipstick way down at the front of the engine, an oil dipstick, if so does it just pull up ?

Hello

There is indeed a small technicians dipstick. Can some times feel stuck due to lack of use.

The electronic oil level system has quite strict parameters before it is available to view, such as distance travelled, engine temp, time vehicle is stationary etc... I think the handbook guides you to when it will be viewable.

Thank you, I suppose its a straight pull up is it ! Also I wonder if you can recommend a workshop manual please.

Yes, but mind your knuckles if it's not been out in a while. You can replace it with a full size "Police option" from the dealer

The only option is a copy of "Vida" and suitable communication tool called "Dice" (a search for this on here will point you in the right direction) or for visual how to, search for Volvo Sweden on Youtube.
