Default Glove box top connections

On top of my glove box, when removing it, the connector (not the one for the light) that slides into a small bracket has nothing plugged into it. Is that correct?

Probably there for an add-on that your motor never had. Wiring looms seem to cater for all models within a range. Someone , somewhere, will have a connector plugged into it.

Default Glove box

Many thanks both, I had eventually managed to remove my glove box to do the pollen filter, and in hindsight wondered if I should have looked further for something to plug into the ‘spare’ connector! I’ve since managed to find similar threads reflecting your reassuring comments!
On glove box removal I eventually spotted a YouTube video for an XC60, like my wife’s, where the glovebox looks identical to mine, except lhd, which got me sorted.

Oh, you've reminded me I probably need to change my pollen filter and it's not my favourite job. Ideally I need longer arms with at least 3 elbows in each and a fingertip eyeball. It might take evolution a while to catch up so I'd better just get on with it
