My 93 940 estate has just started to wobble.
By wobble I mean pulsate through the steering wheel at about 50-60mph, the weird thing is, it’s not always! Sometimes as I start a journey, sometimes it starts...gets worse...then stops!! Any advice welcome. |

I was going to say wheels need balanced ( weights can fall off ) but that would happen all the time when you reached 50-60mph

Check the tyres for bulges.
Sometimes the front wheels rotate at different speeds ( cornering etc ) so the bulge, or indeed the wheel wieght, on one side become aligned or mis-aligned with the wheel on the other side which leads to the intermittent imbalance.....

In addition to the advice already offered (front wheel bearings are very likely - not adjustable and expensive!
![]() ![]() Again it didn't always happen because at times they would become synchronised so one curve on one wheel would cancel the effect of the one on the other side.

Check your tyre pressures too. I've never had a car as sensitive as my 940 to unequal front pressures.

1) wheel balance
2) tyres out of shape (you can try swapping front to rear) 3) worn rack, tie rods, track rod ends or ball joints 4 worn bushes most likely TCA's but check all front bushes |
