Default Crystal headlights (I fhink)

2005 c70, went to change the dipped beam bulb and came across something I have not seen before, usually the bulbs are held in with a squeeze clip, but on my car there seems to be 2 hex screws holding the bulb in, new to me! Has anyone changed a bulb with a fitment like this? And can someone run me through what to do? Sorry for my ignorance.

Threw me the first time I encountered it too!

You simply need to twist the bulb-holder anti-clockwise (I think it's anti-clockwise...) it has flanges that sit under those screws.

Doddle once you've twigged what to do - honest!

Cheers dcw,
It totally throw me, I had already purchased the H7 bulbs but luckily my other car takes the H7s.
Am I right in thinking
Full beam = HB3
Dipped beam = HB4
Because the ones I've seen seem to have a moulded socket whereas on the car it looks like the socket pushes on like the old H7s
Thanks

I'd need to double-check exactly which bulbs they are - by memory I must admit I thought they were H7, but when the rain stops I can have a look!

Once you twist the bulb holder to remove it, the holder part is a round flat metal plate that the bulb pushes onto. You need to get a finger-nail or something thin between the two to prise them apart - the holder is the same size as the bulb base, which struck me as a bit silly really...

Thanks David
I'd really appreciate it if you could have a look for me, even the handbook says they are H7s all the bulb manufacturers say H7s but all I can find is 1 post (that was on this site) that say the bulbs are actually HB3 full and HB4 dipped but when I search for these bulbs they all seem to have a built in socket on the back of the bulb but when I look at the bulbs in mine that doesn't seem to be there.
Once again, thanks

Its been mentioned above but, again its simply twist one way to release and the other way when you pop it back in.

The bulbs insert with the alignment tab thing upright in these so when you put the holder back in, you should feel a snug nip feeling to say its secured in place.

Its a crap design that I personally am not keen on.

Have managed to get the bulb out of the headlight but how do you get the bulb out of the holder?

UPDATE
The bulbs are H7, you need to twist the bulb holder anti clockwise, pull out holder and bulb then you need to get a screwdriver in between the holder and the bulb and prize them apart, get the bulb as far from the holder as you can using the screwdriver then pull with your fingers, it is a very very snug fit, DCW is right the bulb holder is the same size as the bulb so put your glasses on.
Cheers everyone.
