Default S40 2.0d tuning

I have a S40 2.0d SE sport 2007..I’ve done the usual mods ie..custom dyno map,dpf/egr delete and full stainless exhaust resulting in 180BHP.Ive had a hybrid turbo and a much larger intercooler made which are to be installed next week..Has anyone done any similar mods?..Will the standard injectors and clutch be up to the job?..Any advice would be much appreciated..Many thanks..

Hi, if you don't mind me asking regarding the dpf/egr delete, has the car passed the MOT with this modification?

i believe the rule is if the MOT tester notices it he's legally obliged to report it and, in which case I think it's now a criminal offence. Not 100% sure on this, but there was this specific issue raised on a motoring show a while.back. It didnt use to be a big deal but I think there was a law change.

My car is an O7..and I’m not sure how common DPF’s were around that time so my car can fall below the radar so to speak.

I think its mostly cars from 09 onward so that probably explains it. Not having a go, but dpf deletes are really not a good thing the amount of **** deisels pump out. But it makes yr car no different to the older deisels still on the road i guess..

I wish they never changed the tax rules and the upsurge in oil burners didnt happen.... oh well....

Just curious, any particular reason you went this way with a 2.0d and didn’t start with a D5?

Really hope that doesn’t come across as discouraging, it’s obviously a seriously successful project!

No offence taken..lol..it’s my friends fault!..he didn’t want the cream inserts on the leather seats that seams to come with all the red D5’s?..he eventually found a car with all black leather which was a 2.0SE sport..I only ended up with the car cos he offered it to me at stupid money and I couldn’t refuse..I have a go at him on a regular basis cos had he got a D5 I’d be looking at 500BHP+!..those engines are so tuneable..but alas..I’m well happy with the results I’ve achieved..she’s a lot quicker than any good mapped up D5.. :-)

DPF’s have nothing whatsoever to do with emissions..all they do is hold back any excess soot..the methanol injection kit as actually lowered my emissions..
