Battery health: locked or unlocked in driveway
Hey all - I think that my battery health is failing, and after about two weeks of not using the car, starting is a bit sluggish. Will I save any battery drain by leaving the car unlocked or should I just disconnect the battery when it's likely that I won't use the car for a few weeks?
Thanks in advance. Paul

No, you could, or get it on a proper trickle charger (e.g Ctek)

Be aware that having the battery go flat when the car is left for a while, can cause a difficult to fix immobilizer issue from some modules getting their software corrupt.
Use a charger as mentioned above, or simply disconnect the battery - if you have an S60 you can disconnect the positive inside the trunk - the S60 has a trunk lock and you can then use the key to unlock it. On the V70 disconnect rather under the bonnet - the cable is near the right strut tower, under a plastic piece marked with a + sign. Then can unlock drivers door and release the bonnet to access the battery again. When disconnecting the battery, have only the drivers door unlocked, then lock it manually with the key to secure the car. Upon reconnecting the battery, have the ignition key in POS II to prevent any surge that may affect the temp sensor in the climate module
