740 Turbo not starting

Hi all

this is my second post. apparently i did not give the right information on the 1st. firstly sorry, not used to these sorts of forums

secondly a big thank you to all those that have to "tolerate" message posts like mine, for being so gracious and considerate.

I will start again!

I have a 1990 740 turbo which over the last 2/3 months has started to not restart after a run. The engine will turn over but not fire. The problem was intermiitent and then suddenly disappeared. One 2 other occasions the car has been driving along and suddenly stopped ie the egine just died. After 5 -10 mins i was able to restart the car.

However most recently the not starting after a run has returned. The engine turns but will not fire. The car will go with a push. Additonally the car will now not start from cold(the engine turns). It will however go with a push. the lamda warning light is now on all the time as well. The car is now with my cousin who is a mechanic. Any help to point him in the right direction, is defenitley most gratefully received.

These cars have a known issue with the wiring to the fuel pump and relay. I would start with checking all of those wires and connectors making sure they are good and clean. You could also try with a fuel pump relay known to be good.
