Thumbs up ? Electrical Problem

Greetings everyone. First time posting here so hopefully someone can help. 440 SE 1.8i, fitted new alternator 8 weeks ago, last week on starting car noticed that rev counter, fuel gauge and temp gauge, werent working. Thinking,(hoping) that it may be a fuse or relay I continued and after about half hour the engine died completely, no battrey left, Surely it cant be the alternator, why were th egauges not working. All replies will be most welcome

Default 440 electrical prob

hi fella, are all the nut connections on your alternator tight, does definately sound electrical, as for your gauges not working, hmm; i had a battery lead touch the body of my car which caused all instrumentation to stop instantaniously, its possible that theres a wire touching somewhere, sorry cant be of more help an hope you get her fixed !
