Default 200 series(1993) what's cigar lighter output in amps?

I'm about to buy a Halfords Electric Coolbox (24 litres) to use in car. Output is claimed to be 3.5amps on 12V system. Plugs into cigar lighter socket, apparently. Is this recommended? Any experience of any equipment being plugged into the socket for lenghty period while car running - apart from SatNav? Grateful advice.

the cars locked now but checking the fuse thats used for the fag lighter will give you the max amps that can be drawn from it.
i have a cooler installed full time with no problem (the mrs takes a lot of pills so takes a bottle of water ,and for frozen food in the summer ),hopefully your fag lighter supply is only on when the engine is like mine otherwise it will drain you battery very quickly
your "output" is really its required imput and at 3.5 amps quite respectable for these coolers ,one of my home brew experiments needs 12amps
they are terribly inefficient so if your thinking of using it for taking frozen food from home its best to pre cool them overnight in your home as they take some time to get cold from go

Many thanks Chesters6 - useful info. Love the idea of home brew in the car?! 12amps, eh? Very strong stuff. Precooling advice most helpful

i didnt mean beer ,i experimented using several peltiers instead of the standard one in the coolers
for the amount of current used the 5 extra degrees below ambient gained were pointless
mind you as they can warm as well as cool beer making may get thought about
