Ooh, looking forward to seeing that!

I was hoping for a neck-and-neck race to 200,000 miles. But if the time is right, then I'll just have to claim victory as mine is going all the way!

Wishbone replaced - check.
Track rod end replaced - check.
Headlamp aim adjusted - check.
Parking brake cables replaced and adjusted - check.

Just need to get this VOL-FCR thing up and running now, so I can find out which ABS sensor is duff. Replace that, and then we're good for the re-test!

Driving it is an absolute joy! So comfortable, and so effortless!

Haha yes you will win by default. I am considering just leaving the orange one exactly as is, wheels coilovers stereo the lot, if I can get even 400 for it, which I think is doable with 6 months MOT, the t4 wouldn't have been much of an outlay at all, sure there are parts I'd like to keep, but it's just hassle buggering about swapping stuff over, and as the t4 sits quite nicely as it is anyway it doesn't really need any more lowness.

This is the only picture i have so far as not collected it yet, kind of ironic that i only went there to get the pictured momo wheels and ended up having a deal on the whole car, plus its now got some dezent wheels off a mitsubishi galant on it which look lovely.

Clarkey, The T4 looks very nice, it will be so much more lively than your orange V40. You should enjoy

With regards swapping spares between the two cars - don't bother. There is very little that is interchangeable between the P1 and P2 that you would be best to sell the P1 as is and start with the T4.

Got home with it about half an hour ago, it's quiet and calm, smooth and sensible, until you put your foot down, then it just turns into some kind of beast, I don't think I've ever enjoyed driving so much haha

Christmas has indeed come early for you - lucky boy

A good colour and the best Sport Lux spec with Winter Pack so you will have heated leather and climate and I would think piano black inlays.

High praise indeed. I've often wondered whether a T4 would really satisfy, but it sounds like it does - and who am I to argue? Good luck with it, I know you'll keep us all posted as you acclimatize. You'll soon be as fond of it as your orange one.

I love it already, although I was a little worried that on opening the fuel filler there's a big sticker on the back of the flap saying 98 Ron only (or words to that affect) luckily I happened to be at a shell garage at the time that has v power, I've got 4 garages in beccles, none of which do anything other than plain old 95, well actually the BP might have that 97 stuff but I've never found that all that great, sadly our tescos doesn't do momentum 99 and the nearest shell to me is either Lowestoft or thickthorn services at Norwich, oh well, octane booster it is then as I'm not even thinking about risking 95 in it just in case.

Now it's daylight, a few shots, it's mucky on the outside as the guy never had chance to clean it or anything, he mentioned that he would be selling it in the new year as he'd already got another car, and then I was there barely 24 hours later buying it, motd until late October and the biggest wodge of paperwork I've ever seen for a car, full climate control and hid lights, plus lovely wheels too, standard galant wheels but I think they suit it really well, and the price? Six hundred and fifty of the queen's finest great British pounds, I think I got a bargain.

The tyres are too small being 205 40 17, it needs 45s really to fill those arches, but as the current ones all have good tread I'll leave it as is for a while, and the brakes need bleeding, they do work well (it had new brake hoses for the MOT) but the pedal does sink under prolonged braking, i also fancy clear side markers as nobody needs that all that orangeness, but yeah, other than that it's perfect, it has done 175k, but it feels significantly less clunky than my orange one, and has a clutch with an infinitely better biting point too which is beneficial as I do tow a 1250kg caravan, and the seller does also have a towbar that I can have if I wish, which saves me having to take it off the orange one.

Merry Christmas to everyone, hope you are all having an amazing day, I got clothes, new spanners and much much beer, the 6l keg of jupiler (my favourite Belgian beer that's not easy to find in the UK) is getting depleted as we speak

Cracking V40 that.

Also hello all, as this is my first post! I can already see how helpful you all are.

Having just spent some well earned money and Christmas money, thought it was time for a clean and polish, so Olga, is very much nice and shiny now.

It's a 2004 1.8 SE bought it this year with 44k warranted on the clock. And love it to bits !
