Default Spoke to Volvo customer services XC60 Diff Noise

Spoke to Customer Services about my Diff noise about 9.30 am this morning. I said at 62000 miles this should not happen I know it's a 2009 all wheel drive model, ,and that I always replace the tyres in 4's , Dealer in Ipswich want £5400 for just parts , and I said to Volvo Customer Services I had been in the Motor Trade all my life and I am furious that a so called Premium car should have this fault in that low mileage , he said this is very rare!! When I on this site in 2 minutes I found 3 cars that had different lower mileages than mine all had Diff problems. Volvo said due to age we cannot do anything about it ,perhaps your Dealer will show some good will, I said that's enough look out for bad publicity and put the phone down I putting it up to Watchdog and suggest others that have had this problem do the same.

PS. Found Transmission Company near Ipswich who will fix it for around £800 to £1000, Last Transmissions 01473 736229 , don't know anything about them only know one of the Engineers

When I had my big end bearing go on my Mercedes C320 Cdi - Mercedes said that shouldn't happen and offered 50% in goodwill. That was at 95,000 miles. That really impressed me and Warranty Direct who paid the other half. Total bill £2,500. Cost of bearing £7.50.

Also - you are posting in the wrong subsection of the forum and may get more help and advice in the other XC60 section.

Think you’re in the wrong sub-forum squire.....but

I assume there is some other detail here? 9yr old car, full Volvo history? Diff oil changed etc. etc.?

To be honest it doesn’t surprise me one bit, it’s technically a wear component....what’s to say you haven been out doing 4 wheel drive donuts for months on end?

Assume you’ve had any fault diagnosed by a dealer or Volvo independent? It’s proper difficult with stuff like this, and you can’t blame Volvo for not instantly offering to replace a diff for you.
