Default D5 '08. No start codes suggest MAF,EGR,Swirl

Hi

I have a 2008 XC90 D5. A few days ago it lost power in usual driving, and wouldn't start again after that.

I've just read the codes and this is what I get:

ECM-135F - MAF sensor - signal too high
ECM-18A0 - Swirl Actuator Control - Offset fault
ECM-44A0 - EGR position sensor - signal too low
ECM-44B0 - EGR position sensor - faulty signal
ECM-6720 - EGR control - Flow too high
TCM-0A31 - Control module communication signal missing from engine control module

ECM-6661 - Glow Relay Control - Faulty Signal
ECM-6664 - Glow Relay Control - Faulty Signal

CEM-9C03 - Antenna/light ring Signal Missing
CCM-0040 - Air quality sensor internal fault

Once in the past we've had a sudden loss of power, but that turned out to be just a loose turbo hose (so we were told - I didn't have vida/dice then).

Any advice or suggestions greatly appreciated! And can anyone recommend a good Volvo specialist in Sheffield?

Thanks

Matt

I would chase the comms problems first.

ECM-18A0 - Swirl Actuator Control - Offset fault... Is the swirl arm attached at the cylinder head side and to the actuator motor end?

ECM-6661 - Glow Relay Control - Faulty Signal... No.1 glow plug requires changing

ECM-6664 - Glow Relay Control - Faulty Signal... No. 4 glow plug requires changing
(No.1 is to the left... No. 5 is to the right as you look into the engine bay)

CCM-0040 - Air quality sensor internal fault... Most have that fault and it wouldn't cause your symptoms

The rest I can't help with

TCM comms could also be an issue here

You may have an inhibited start if the TCM cannot report that the gearbox is in a start-safe mode (P or N)

Just to clarify - it turned over and fired a couple of times, but wouldn't stay started (Battery's flat for now).

Also - VIDA reported the TCM-0A31 and the Glow Plugs as amber, and the MAF/Swirl/EGR codes as red, if that counts for anything.

Thanks for the advice though! I've got it booked in somewhere on Thursday, doesn't sound like anything within my ability to fix to be honest - well I could do the glowplugs I guess :-)
