Thanx Beast - didn't want to state the bleedin' obvious [ from my "build" thread ].

Inside DRY / WARM storage ... I'll take my chances.

I'd set fire to it rather than sell it for £300.

Not sure what all this "washing" is about - when I buy a car, I buy it for what's there, not if it needs a shampoo and set.

You might do, but why not present a car at its best? Most people judge a car on how it looks to start off with. A clean well presented car might indicate a car has been well looked after, a dirty one might suggest a car isn't cared for. Not always the case and you should always look deeper but if you want top price you've got to put the effort in.

I'm looking for around £1000 - which barely covers the new parts / upgrades [ Bilsteins, Kilen springs, tow bar, roof bars, roof spoiler, etc. ] , never mind the cost of the car in the first place.
Pics don't show the roof bars/spoiler either. At least take some current pictures.

I appreciate what you're saying [ I think ] however, if I go to see a car with a view to buying [ especially a project ] I'm more concerned that the paint is good, NO rust, NO dents / repairs required and a good running car mechanically. A good recent service / maintenance history is a serious bonus - again which this car has.

I've seen many builds on here where rust is a major factor - both structural and cosmetic - and along with dents and dings- which this car doesn't suffer from. There's quite a few cars with rippled panels and other issues.

Had the project moved forward it would have been resprayed - so no point in cleaning / waxing only to have to be removed.

Again - over on the build thread I have noted that the roof bars have been purchased [ along with spoiler ] and seeking advice / wrinkles FOR FITTING. Which might elude to the fact that they have not yet been fitted. I'm sure a potential buyer would know what the car looks like with those items attached.

However, thanx for taking the time to pass on selling tips - duly noted.

Default No longer for sale

Biopsey reports back now and it appears I will be with you all for longer than I anticipated.

I still have another life changing issue to deal with [ non health related ], however at least that one is not "terminal" !!

So, looks like the old gal will be finished after all.

I have a couple of major family events coming up [ Daughter's wedding and another's 50th ] ALL in September, so the bank of TJ has been well bashed. However, there's nothing to stop me now [ funds apart ] from getting on with my project.

One of those - "I've started - so I'll finish" jobs.

SO - CAR NO LONGER FOR SALE.

Default Back on sale.

Sadly a relapse has meant that the project has to be sold now as there is little chance of me completing it.

So - it's back on the market - same details as before nothing has been done other than started to fit roof bars. That only amounts to the headliner being dropped along the driver's side. If I feel up to it I'll refit it [ 20 minute job anyway ].

It is at the moment starting / running [ sweetly ], that doesn't mean it will continue like that as there IS an intermittent start / run issue and is being sold as such.

Make me a sensible offer - parts fitted alone come to more than the value of a stocker AND it's in exceptionally rust free condition.

Same as before, if it doesn't get sold here - it's going on E Bay.

Quick update - 4 offers so far - one pending, one serious, one involves a swap and the other is a go forth and multiply jobbie. I'm going to let the car find it's own market value. To date that seems to be around £700 - £800. Car is CURRENTLY starting and running sweetly - that could all change tomorrow !!!
