Replacement Windscreen Autoglass Delays - Page 2

The radar unit is housed in the windscreen pod high up to avoid very expensive repairs in the case of minor front end bumps.
The XC90 has been in production for over 3 years now, you would think they would know where it is by now.

They have moved some things around and are now coming tomorrow to fit.

Autoglass are at it, apparently my 2015 XC60 they cant get a windscreen for and then when/if they get one the appointments take 2 weeks. Terrible service and we are all locked in through insurance.

Why not go back to your insurance company and explain the situation to them. I suspect they may allow you to go elsewhere, problem is other glass replacement firms may also struggle to get the screen you need.

Its a fleet car so I will park it at them.

Mine has been fitted. Not quite sure if the wipers are positioned correctly though as the drivers one may be going too far and hitting the window surround. It is definitely very close but cannot recall what it was like before. Need to check it.

My driver's wiper very occasionally catches the surround if I'm travelling fast and there's a strong wind hitting the screen at an unfavourable angle.

What’s the dealer price, installed, can anyone tell me? I have just had a crack on mine

When I had a stone chip on mine I contacted my dealer, preferring to have Volvo technicians do the work. They said they would just sub-contract to National Windscreens any way so decided to stick with my insurers approved firm - Autoglass.

I had to wait a couple of days while they got a screen (this was in August 2016 so the cars were still quite new to the market) . The Autoglass technician did a superb job and suggested I tried the PA2 system somewhere quiet to check it was working properly 1 which it was.

I did ask the Autoglass guy what the cost would be without insurance and he said probably about £600-£700 fitted.
