Manufacturers take ages now to get oem screens due to the various options.

Paul is the only guy i would trust have a read on the calibration being required bit...

Thanks for the info, I will if I have too but I am not giving up yet on that Autoglass should have fitted everything back correctly in my estimation. I bet they have billed the insurance company for it. They are supposed to be coming on 16th, but do not know the ACC etc is ok now as they did not call me back as promised.
I will be chasing them after this for some sort of compensation for the terrible service from start to finish.

They said the ADAS has to be calibrated by driving it for about 30 mins over a certain speed and they plugged a device into a port which tells them when it is done. The Technician forgot to take it out of the port and had to come back to my house to pick it up.

I contacted my insurer, who had a contract with Autoglass, but because my problem wasn’t with a cracked or broken screen, I had to foot the bill myself.

A technician was dispatched to look at the problem and he decided that he would order a new screen, but try to remove the old one and refit it, with new sealant.

To cut a long story short, he removed the screen, leaving the radar and camera housing in place. There was no physical attachment to the screen anyway, not even a gasket. He cleaned and replaced the screen with no need to re-calibrate anything.

My distance warning, ACC, City Safety and collision avoidance systems all worked, and still do work, perfectly.
Thank you very much for the information, it is encouraging to know that it works. However even Autoglass now say that they recalibrate all intelisafe systems if needed. I wonder if this is due to fact that by replacing the windshield if they fit it even by 1 mm off, this might translate to a few cms on the road off.
