Top man! Get it bought, they're great vehicles - very practical etc.

Is it the 960 for sale in Cullompton - Devon? This is only an hour from me and we've discussed buying it and selling the current 740. But have decided to keep what we have, at least for now.

Thanks for the info Dave, Steve and I discussed those very points! We also discussed this hearse, having 4/5 proper seats, enough power for a heavy converted vehicle and by most accounts, it'd use less fuel! However, in talking to the seller, it hasn't had a cambelt change in the last 11 years and needs a fair amount of welding at the rear, but otherwise is really quite tidy and it is so far quite cheap! If anyone is interested, the seller seems quite an honest and genuine person.

I also tried to persuade the OH that a 2 hearse family is something that we should be, his and his hearses? Well cool

The ultimate Volvo estate lol! I'd been toying with the idea of a hearse for years but couldn't decide to go for a 3-door or the longer 5-door. In the end I grabbed an ambulance as OH and I wanted a camper (as well as me wanting to do a van) and this will be a lot easier to convert.

It's not very often you see a 5-seater (most are 4-seaters) or one with a biege interior (nearly all are grey)

I've always wanted to convert a Sherpa V8 ambulance (or ex-Police or similar Sherpa V8 van) into a camper. Highly unlikely now, most have rusted to nothing sadly.
Ambulances are popular for conversion to campers because they already have storage, front/rear separation and some other useful stuff for campers.

Sometimes thought of a hearse as an estate car but i'd be too tempted to fit a fake coffin with a skeleton inside that sat up with its eyes lit bright red when i hit the brakes.

Perhaps the reason for most hearses having a grey interior is so it matches the complexion of the rearmost passenger........................

Back in the 1930s dad drove a hearse for a living[his dad owned the undertaking business]@2s/6d per funeral.Dad used to take mum out in it when they were courting[and on the odd occasion they had "company" under the rear deck It wasn't a Volvo though it was a Rolls Royce, something must have worked as they married towards the end of WWII and stayed that way until dad passed away in 1977!

Have you got a link to it? Looked on fleabay and couldn't find it.

The blue 740GLE in my avatar was F666 TLK but the reg on that hearse takes some beating - K666 (the number of the beast) D(ea)TH is very fitting for a hearse!

Had a look on flea bay couldn't find a link but the seller is listed as Paranormalstuff 91. All I did was type in Volvo estate in the search box, didn't go into the motors section. Popped up straight away, good luck hunting.
