  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Default Xc90 2003 air pipe to turbo

Hi my xc90 has lots of power and turbo looks like it works but when I rev it up high it flattens the rubber hoes going in to the turbo from the side soft rubber. Looks like it comes from the Air box please help thanks John

You need a new pipe. It's a moderately common failure on older models, not super expensive.

Default Air intake pipe

Hi yer air intake pipe that fits to turbo is like really floppy rubber it’s got a sensor in it to .. that will come out .pipe feels like jelly . Will a new one be much harder thanks John

Yes, it will be considerably stiffer and will definitely not flatten when the engine is revved .

The pipe was modified after the engine had been in production a year or so - if you have a 2003 car you might have the early pipe (the later ones have larger ribbing).
