Default Knock when power applied

I am getting a single knock from the S60 when low/moderate power is applied under 2k rpm (with gears engaged)

It started as a knock when setting off but then I started to hear it while changing gears. I found the gearbox mount was completely knackered so having changed that my knock problem has now got much worse! As above now when riding along at 1500 rpm and applying a bit of throttle a single knock is quite noticable. The knock sounds like it is coming from the offside wheel area.

All suspension components except the strut have been replaced in the last 2 years and all look fine with no play found. I am guessing its the inner CV joint but does anyone have any suggestions before I order a new driveshaft?

Have you checked/replaced the driveshaft bolts?

You don't mention the engine type but have you checked the clearance of the engine/gearbox from the subframe and the function of the engine mounts?

Sorry it's a 2005 D5 Euro 3 - all the engine mounts and clearances look ok although I havn't studied them in detail. The torque bar on the top has a fair bit of play in it. I was lead to believe it is normal for it to move but how much play is too much?

The front and rear mounts are vacuum actuated so need testing with a vacuum tester.

Mine was knocking (single) applying and disengaging drive (2003 D5 manual), then started clunking whilst accelerating/decelerating from around 40mph, to the state I could occasionally feel it through the car floor. Had a dig around under the car and found a lot of lash in the offside outer CV joint and could feel metal-metal contact at certain points when turning it (jacked up). New (used) driveshaft on the way and will swap it out this weekend.

Car has 202k on it btw.
