I find Wonder Wheels just fine, have used this for many years and it does the job very well.

Not used wonder wheels is it the stuff that goes red pink on iron (brake disc dust) that is supposed to be very good some cleaners can attack the finish on alloys (depends on the alloy)

Bilt hamber gets a lot of recommendations

I wouldn’t use the acid based (or any non neutral) cleaners more than once a year, or if you’ve diamond cut wheels, never

The iron out/ devils blood type are good though, but in general, soap and water is best and wax/seal your wheels just like the paint

Used Meguirs Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner on a set of 13 year old wheels. Had to use it liberally, but they cleaned the dust and tar off fantastically well. Have only used sponge and soap in the year since and they still come up very well. Like everyone I'm very wary of anything too acidic, hence only using it the once, but that is partly out of lack of need.

I use Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel. It is non acid, non alkaline based and doesn’t even need you to touch the wheel with a brush or sponge after application. Spray, leave until deposits turn purple then wash off. I’ve tried loads of products but this is the bast I’ve found.

Similar stuff then to iron out, devils blood and others that work the same way, goes on pink, turns purple and rinses off, smells horrible!

Bilt Hamber Auto balm is the wax I use on wheels as it goes on in thick layers

Yes, not the best smell but does the job. It regularly wins the Auto Express award for best wheel cleaner.
