262C project for sale
I'm having to reluctantly sell my '79 262C (FJF701V) due to an imminent move abroad.
I've had her since 1999, though she's been off the road and in my garage since 2001. When it last ran, the engine was rattling but still running well. The gearbox is rather tired - but would still work ok. I took it off the road when a radiator leak co-incided with an MOT which would have required new tyres, exhaust box, and I suspect a few suspension/steering parts (bushes, rod ends, etc.). The bodywork isn't terrible, but does require a bit of attention here and there - the usual places... The interior is in good condition. It's quite unusual in that it has the older front end but the later rear end. It's a UK spec right hand drive model in silver. The original 2664cc engine has been replaced with a 2849cc one. I also have a 1984/5 760GLE for sale which has an excellent engine and gearbox. However, my plan was to fit a 2.3 injection lump with a four speed auto - which would make for a more economical and reliable daily cruiser. I don't want a lot of money for it, but would like to see it go to someone who will put it back on the road and not just break it for spares. £250 would buy it. Another £200 would buy the 760 (currently off the road awaiting an MOT). I could perhaps help with transporting it/them if that's a problem. I'm located in Cambridgeshire. Any questions, ask away... |

Here are some photos - I haven't washed her since she came out of the garage a few weeks ago, hence the grime - and the nasty mess on the driver side, which will clean off - that was from a small leak in the garage roof which dripped onto a manky old carpet which was leaning against the car - nice...
I've photographed the worst of the rust, but the scuttle below the rear window is a bit rotten too. Otherwise, nothing *too* serious to worry about with the bodywork. I have a few spare alloy wheels which are free to whoever buys the car - I think some of the tyres are ok. Photos: Any questions, or more photos needed, just ask...
