Question for V70 owners
I'm looking at replacing my XC90 with a V70 and wondered if current owners could give me some information.
1) Have you ever had a isofix car seat and two other children in the back - how comfortable were they (sibling fighting aside ) 2) Can someone measure the gap between the inner left and right isofix bracket? It'll help me understand how it compares to other vehicles we have. Thanks, Jonathan |

I changed from a 53 plate xc90 to a 59 plate R design V70.
I loved the middle booster seat of the XC90 and wished I had the family pack on the V70 with the built in boosters. Overall we've not seen a massive issue in the rear seating of the V70, and have done many a journey with 3 in the back. (3 kids or 2 plus adult.) We never had 3 large car seats fitted though normal was to have 2 isofix and booster or adult. Note I'm 6'8" tall too so tend to push the seat all the way back too. What age are the kids? Which sort of child seat are they in at present? I seem to recall missing the 3rd row of seats but don't feel the V70 was small by comparison. One point to note though as an aside. The boot on the V70 isn't as deep as the Xc90. Our tent fitted lengthwise in the 90, bit had to go widthways in the 70. You will also miss the split tailgate - perfect for nappy changes!!! |

I have an 8 month old in his Maxi Cosi CabrioFix chair on a Maxi Cosi EasyFix ISOFIX base and had 2 adults in the middle and left seat on the back row on a 200 mile journey and there were no complaints. The caveat there was the baby seat goes behind me so any passenger who sit behind my partner are spoiled for room as she's only 5'3''
I don't have the Volvo today, I have the 206 but I'll measure the gap for you later

Yup same here.
I've had maxi cosi plus iso fix in rear seat with 2 5foot 3 females in the middle and driver rear seats in comfort, No complaints and both mentioned they had room to relax I must say if your moving from xc90 to v70 for fuel economy, at 27mpg around london in a 2.4 175ps v70 I'm not sure you'll save much, unless you go for maybe the newer 4 pot D4 engine? I myself am thinking about moving in the other direction (in a year or 2 when the new shape xc90 hits my budget )
