There are two fixings that use the the dog guard, a foam pad which screws out to push against the roof lining and two feet which screw out to push into the floor. You can divide the boot how you like it does not have to be 50/50

I can get pictures tomorrow if that helps

It is a very good fit and a very useful item. I am using it to give two border collies 2/3 of the boot and the other 1/3 to hold pram and other little bits.

No point trying to get a used one when they are only £60ish delivered brand new in the box with all fixings and instructions. Send rufe a PM!
Cheers Mark

Some pictures would be most helpful.

My main concern is that, should an emergency manoeuvre be necessary, the weight of luggage won't dislodge the partition and fall on the dog, potentially causing injury.

I know it is an unlikely scenario but I would rather spend a bit more for a rigid and secure solution.

I can't find a camera to take pictures!

However, it is VERY secure and is basically an interference fit. You tighten the legs and pad as tight as you like to make it secure as you like. At the back of the seats it is fixed to the dog guard in two places so it can't completely fall over. I tried pulling on it full force and it wouldn't move.

It's a good bit of kit and very secure!
