Default Rear Droplink / Sway Bar Link Missing

I was planning to replace my Rear Droplink / Sway Bar Link today.
But when I got under the car I couldn't see it.

Is it supposed to be fitted to V70 2002 model?

Default Hmmmm......

In short, I think yes you should have drop links fitted....I'm pretty sure I have them on my 2003 V70.....If you should then who MOT'd the car? Are both missing?

Eurocarparts sell them for your car.......

Rings a dim and distant bell. I'm fairly sure that some models did not have the rear roll bar fitted. Worth digging a bit further. Seem to recall that 4WD cars had thinner bars as well ? ?

This chimes with me too... caused a bit of a stir on a post several years ago IIRC

It poses two questions:

1) Is there an anti-roll bar fitted (be odd to fit one if they aren't going to put on the links)?
2) Have you noticed any handling problems?

Not all V70's have a rear anti-roll bar ( sway bar is the American term )

I've just had a look under my car. If those lugs in your pictures are what the drop links are meant to attach to, then mine hasn't got any either - 2001 V70.

@Greasyfingers

1. No
2. Not really, just an occasional minor knocking sound from the rear
3. Yes that is what the drop links are meant to attach to

@all

Thanks for the info all. I was only going to change them as I got them as part of a kit with the front ones which definitely did need changing and did exist.

There wasn't a Flux Capacitor in that kit by any chance?

Hi,

Several years ago I too wondered where the rear roll bar was on my 2002 V70 petrol.

Turns out it was never fitted to several models around that year. Mine was 1 of them.

Still passes the MOT I just look at it as less to replace.
