Default XC90 22 Inch to 20 inch ???

I can't seem to post on the article thread so i posted here is there a problem changing from 22 inch wheels to 20 inch on a XC90 , i was told by the dealer it was a big job that needed configurations changing in the computer. An alloy wheel trader told me otherwise

Really?
Of course its a very easy job. You just need to make sure your tyre profile ensures the rolling radius is kept the same.

So if your current tyres are 275/35/22, when you buy some 20” wheels, you will need to put tyres sized 275/45/20 on to them.

There will be a miniscule difference in rolling radius, but all totally legal and as recommended by Volvo.

Dealer is speaking rubbish. I have 21” wheels on my 2020 xc60, but have been using 18” wheels over winter. Certainly no computer changes needed or anything like that- just remember ro reset your TPMS when you fit the new wheels!

We had 20"s on all our XC90's, and really like the way they look - oddly I preferred the original R Design alloys, more 'meaty' in a way! But the 22"s do look great the longer you look at them, so I think it will just take a bit of time for your eyes to adjust. I would think the 20"s looked small after looking at 22"s but they are a good size! More options for cross climate/all season tyres etc too.
Sorry to hear you've fallen out of love - is this just the wheel size issue?
If you're trying to sell the 22"s - whilst there is a market for people upgrading all 4, there maybe a larger market for people trying to buy 1 or 2 after getting cracks etc on theirs. Just a thought if you do put them on ebay!
Good luck, L

I bought the car and shouldn't have if that makes sense. I p/x a 2016 Inscription with nearly all the extras including B&W and air suspension . I told the dealer i wanted another Inscription with Xenium and winter pack but he pushed this and gave me a good price for mine. In my opinion the R Design is a totally different car to the Inscription and i just prefer it to the R Design .It's my mistake and as for the wheels they look too small maybe 21s would have been better. Ive put 20s on with a brand new set of Goodyears which were recomendef to me.Im now thinking they will devalue the car so wont sell the 22s

I know Nick i'm just so frustrated with the whole saga , its on ebay and autotrader but im not holding my breath.Ive had a dealer down in London pushing his Inscription Pro with Xenium 30000 miles and he wants £5000 to swap , they both trade at the same price, quite funny how he was pulling mine apart
