Two of the maddest ideas in cars - leather seats, and then heating because you've go leather seats! Give me cloth seats every time.

I wouldn’t buy a car without them, 3-stage heating means you have the choice from furnace to nicely warming.

Heated when the same, with my Reynaurds it’s genuinely a game changer.

Yes absolutely, every daily driver I've had for >15 years has had them as a factory option and my farm pickup (Ford Ranger) I retro fitted a kit off ebay.

I love having heated seats. My Subaru warms up quickly so the seats are not on for long but my Transit connect takes aggressors seats are great until the heater has warmed up. Never missed when I’d never had them… Now? I’d never be without em.

They are useful to switch on in July on an unsuspecting passenger as well!😈

I never use them ! I would swap for a heated steering wheel all day long.

I do use them sometimes on my 2015 Auris and on my 1996 Volvo 940. 940 has full leather seats from the original half leather.

Yeah, they're crap and not needed. I removed the switches and fitted blanks.

It would be interesting to see a temperature test of a heated seat left on for a couple minutes vs someone just sitting in the seat and warming the seat with their arse.

I reckon you could fool people by flicking a disconnected switch that still lit up, and they would magically feel warmer. Placebo.

I'd be happy to do without them with cloth seats, but every car we've bought in recent years has been secondhand with leather upholstery and heated seats. Great for a quick burst of warmth, but I never use the maximum setting, nor do I use them for long. You'd never get my Mrs to agree to leather seats without them being fitted.
Our V70 came with ventilated seats which I've never come across before, but tried them a few times during the 30C° spell this summer. They were very effective. I believe they can be used in conjunction with heated seats to dry wet clothing while you drive - or if Tena pads are pushed beyond their design envelope.
