Default Should i fit a nitrous kit?

I have an opportunity to have a FREE nitrous kit fitted to my car. It is a 1997 totally standard (for now) S70 T5 CD.
I hear the bottom end and conrods may break after 300bhp. Is this true?
Do you guys think it's a good idea to fit it or should i just not bother?

Thanks
Gav.

Alot of variables to consider (controller, wet v dry, jet size etc etc). I'd say probably not.

This site is pretty good

Lets not forget what it will do to your insurance. Plus if you ever decide to sell the car, unless a proper petrol head wants it you'll have a real job getting rid. Non-petrol-heads will see unaffordable insurance, higher maintenance costs, and the perception that the car has been ragged to oblivion.

Default nitrous

Hell yes go for it.

PS interestingly most insurance companies have no issues with Nitrous and if used correctly you wont blow the engine up only the boys and girls [cant be sexist] who run hot nitrous will blow the engine up but a properly fitted/measured kit wont

Let me know how you get on instead of turning my early 850 into a one off T5-R might fit Nitrous

I think there's an ongoing article in practical performance car about NOS kits.

I'm not against the fitment of it in principle, if its done right, in fact I looked at it instead of doing a turbo install in my old MX-5. If not it'll be bent rods and cooked pistons.

Vent the nitrous into the cabin aswell, but only if you want to be laughing all the way to the scrap yard
