Default C30 Heater Matrix Removal

Hi to everyone.
I have a c30 1.6 R design 2009 and I am in the middle of replacing the heater matrix. All has gone well until I get to the point of removing the matrix having disconnected it in the engine bay and exposed it with in the housing. Much of the interior has been removed to get there.
I am basically trying to pull the pipe through from the engine bay but the pipes are not coming through because the heater housing is preventing that and Im stuck as to how to pull forward the heater housing. It only needs to come back/forward 2cm but it seems to be well bolted in and Im at a loss where the bolts are to loosen it.

help much appreciated

Hi
I guess you have removed the pipe clamps and orings?
When I changed my matrix the biggest pain was refitting the orings and clamps. The two pipes coming from the bulkhead are fixed although can be removed if needed.

The matrix fitted was with one piece pipes. I managed in the end to get them out by hacksawing them and removing a plastic bracket/bracing flange which secures the pipes as they exit/firewall into the engine bay. Not at all easy. The water fall, glove box, hand brake consul and much of the under dash has to come out.
The replacement matrix come with the pipes in 2 pieces which should make it easier to fit through the firewall. I hope.

Well, its done and put back together (with a few screws left over).
Its mechanically relatively easy but the hard work is getting to it, as glove box, waterfall, central console, and under panels have to come out. Its worth photo graphing as you do it.
The really hard work seemed to be connecting the two o rings/clamps as previously mentioned. It took me 2 hours to connect with much cursing and assistance from the wife.
The actual heater matrix is around £70 to buy off eBay and the garage quoted me
£530 plus parts to fit. So I think a conservative estimate is going to be £600.
