Just about to have a crack at the throttle body and EGR myself having had problems with lack of power, poor starting, poor mpg & engine system service lights. Had the codes read, showed something about throttle body & position sensor, EGR, MAF ... ugh ...

Anyway .. a plea to Thassos (or anyone else for that matter), if you're able to repost the pics of your work, it would be hugely appreciated.

Also, to anyone else struggling to find info on the 185bhp Euro 4 P2s, there is a handy dosument on the following page:

https://www.volvoclub.org.uk/tech/Ne...-Technical.pdf

Lots of pics and descriptions.

Default Throttle body problems

When I turn on the Ignition a horrible fan-type noise is coming from the Throttle body area of my 2007 XC70 D5
Is this fixable or has the damage been done ?
Also car seems to be in Limp-mode....no power and limited speed to around 40/50

I think the main benefit is that the ETM hopefully wont be jamming anytime soon.

Actually one tool in the set is snap on, the rest are bodge it yourself !, I was concerned that dislodging all the chud could cause a problem downstream, so was very careful to get as much as poss out. Has been running faultlessley since my coal mining session so im pleased.

Thanks for the positive comments guys
Just had a new EGR fitted and a general clean out of throttle body etc....and have a light turbo whine, I’m thinking it’s a positive as everything clean and breathing / exhaling better?
