Not sure on cause of "ECM-1632 Alternator Faulty signal"
Hi All,
I'm having some difficulties with my Volvo C30 (2008) relating to a faulty alternator signal and wondered if anyone had any ideas on a possible solution. So essentially I've done: Cleared code: ECM-1632 Alternator Faulty signal. Came back on after turning ignition off and on. Tried switching alternator twice. Current one is a used volvo one for c30. Changed battery to Bosch. Changed alternator regulator fuse (under bonnet) - all seems fine there. Checked some contacts on CEM under passenger side panel. Overall seems in really good condition. I'm not sure what to do as a next step and wondered if anyone had any ideas. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks. |

Depends which engine you've got. Some have digital alternator control via LIN bus from the CEM, the others have analogue control via a voltage from the ECU.

Thanks for the reply, it's a 1.6 petrol. Is that enough info to determine the control type? Thanks again.
