Default Trouble at any time/speed.

I am a new owner of a 1989 740GL with a 2.3L bosh engine.

The car starts right-up but shuts down within the first block, sometimes it can go 20-40 miles until it shuts down again..

I have install new in-tank fuel pump, spark plugs and cables, cap and rotor..

I have a feeling this isn't enough to get rid of the problem, could anyone please elaborate.

Thank you..

Does it restart fine after it stalls? Or do you have to wait? Is it turbocharged engine? Might be an air leak somewhere.

Hi, what milage is on speedo. Do check Fuel Injection Relay behind ashtray as they seem to cause a lot of cutting out problems. Many owners carry spare one in car. It could be the ignition switch contacts. Also on Turbos, there are 2 specific items to check. On the passenger (on RHD cars) inner wing ( fender) there is a Relay and a 4 coil pack. My 945T stalled and stopped due to the Relay ( possibly called Radio Suppresion Relay). The Fuel Regulator at the fwd ond of the fuel rail can also be troublesome. There was a section in 700/900 FAQ on our site or BRICKBOARD.COM re running problems.
