Engine 850: B5204S/2.0/20v: engine cranks intermitten start

when theirs no start the temperature gauge goes half way up pauses thn goes all the way up then dops quickly down ,when the needle drops half way down then drops the rest of the siowly or goes half up then down to bottom again or does not move it will start ok .have changed cam and crank sensors pump and main fuel relays when temp and throttle sensors etc are disconnected and the igntion is turned the temp gauge still reacts the same wondering if any one has come across this temp gauge reaction thanks for any help i am very confused?

hi sounds like the temperature sender unit is faulty to me its on thermo housing hidden i think at the back of it, if its same as mine.
and yes i had this also new sender fixed it,good luck
