Default SubWoofer: do you have it? What MY?

So now I'm toying with the Subwoofer idea again

But I've seen conflicting reviews as to when the subwoofer support was dropped from the XC90, I saw a guy on YouTube trying to retrofit it but said his 2009-10 XC90 would not accept the subwoofer software

I have MY2009 High Performance HP Sound, but no subwoofer
Physically adding it is easy, but the big question is the software support.
(High Performance HP = High Performance sound with Headset Panel)

Does anyone here have a MY2009 High Performance HP Sound with subwoofer, or a later MY than 2009, with subwoofer fitted and working?

I'd just like to confirm what is possible....

Thanks!

I think I just found the answer in VIDA

I happen to have 3 x VINs stored in my VIDA:
MY2008
MY2009
MY2011

Selecting the MY2008 profile, I can select Information > 3 > 39 > 395 > Subwoofer module (SUB)
Select the MY2009 profile and the section 395 is no longer available
Same on the MY2011 profile

Cross check:
Call up a manually selected MY2007 profile: 395 SUB is displayed
Call up a manually selected MY2008 profile: 395 SUB is displayed
Call up a manually selected MY2009 profile: no 395 SUB option shown

So it looks like MY2009 was the year that Volvo stopped fitting the subwoofer to the XC90

I'll stop my wild goose chase now, as it is pointless.
Volvo will not be able to load any subwoofer software to my ICM.

Thanks for this post - I've got a MY2012 with the rear AC and was thinking of removing it to replace it with a subwoofer but after seeing this here and Swedespeed there's really no point if the software doesn't exist.

It means I've got to sort my rattles instead :/

Default Sub feedback and a tweet

When looking for my XC I sought out a Sub equipped model ('03 with Prem sound + sub). I love the power of the system and have endlessly played around with the EQ to optimise the bass response. I have to say the sub makes surprisingly little difference to creating a good balanced sound. The door woofers really pack a punch. I can see why Volvo discontinued the option.

I would like a smoother tweeter sound though. Vocals are the first thing to become harsh at volume. Has anyone found an effective tweeter upgrade for the original Premium system?

Most likely not in same league, but have you looked at one of those plug & play amplified subs like the focal ibus 20?

My 2008 V8 Executive with Dynaudio doesn't have the sub, but it's available according to Vida.

I've just bought a 2004 T6 for work (with a broken gearbox) that has the sub.

Can't tell if it works as there's a whole lot of network faults so the stereo doesn't work, but as I've always fealt the Dynaudio misses just a touch of extra bass I'm going to see if I can get someone to code the module for me and stick it in the V8
