Cool

This sound like the same problem I had when they fitted a towbar to my MK1. I tested it when I got home to find none of the 12v services from the car to the 'van worked except the road lights.

I booked the car in for the following day to get it sorted and in the meantime
I read the installation instructions, noticed there was supposed to be 2 new extra fuses fitted to the fuse box in the rear wing, went and checked - no fuses.

When I took the car in I decided to say nothing and let them sort it, apparently it took them over an hour to discover they were missing. The Service Manager was less than impressed when I told him it had taken me about 10 minutes including reading the instruction.

Glad you are sorted, as promised I did mention your problem to our local dealer service manager at a VOC open night meeting last night.

He said they have fitted dozens of towbars to SPA cars and have never omitted any permanent or switched live 12v connections or fuses.

Thank you for that information, and taking the time to ask the question on my behalf, I am pleased I have my system working as it should now but still at a loss to understand why it was not installed correctly in the first place (or fuse not installed) and after I took it back initially. Explanation they gave contradicts the fitting instructions.
