All done for both the Volvo and the Pug last week. It is about the right time for me, end of Nov and will change back end of March. Although I normally do the Pug a little earlier but at the moment I am not doing early days and late nights to work. This is the 6th year I have used the same set of winters on the Volvo. This time I have rotated the tyres to see if I can get a bit more life out of them but I think that this will be their last season as they approach 4mm left.

I’ve got a set of Volvo alloys with part worn winter tyres on that I’ll be selling as soon as I’ve cleaned them up so I can photograph them, if anyone’s interested. I’ve lost patience with the V50’s headlights and have part-exed it for a Jaguar XE.

Thorn, I know what you mean. I couldn't wait to get rid of my S40. Worst lights I've ever come across in a car. Dangerous, even after a bulb upgrade.

If I get a dry weather spell tomorrow I'll fit my winter tyres. Had a slight dusting this morning, soon melted!

Swapped mine over today. Did it myself as it gives me some exercise.
Wonder if this winter they'll get a proper test on the white stuff?

Never got round to taking 3 of them off. The only reason the other one is off is because I got a brick on the road and destroyed the tyre- really must get a new one, as knowing my luck it will snow and the one ‘summer’ tyre fitted won’t grip and I’ll get stuck as it’s on the front!

It's illegal to mix summer and winter on the same axle (... or if it isn't, it is extremely unwise).

Not according to the mot man it isn’t, not even an advisory even though I asked the question. It’ll be getting sorted though soon, it only because I want to get rid of one of the sets of wheels.
