Ok thanks guys, yes late auto with aftermarket prop sensor for me I think, where do the kits for that come from?
Yes the damaged wires are localised to engine bay, I guess an old loom to use the correct wire sizes and colours from would be good if I could find one. I have also been thinking about the ac from a 940, can that be made to work in a 240? |

Another question, the 940 turbo engine will have a cat and a lambada probe, what has to be done about that? I am assuming just no cat and have the probe mounted in the exhaust. Classicsweed I see you have a stainless exaust with the option of a probe in 2.5 in stainless, will that just fit straight on the back of the turbo in a converted 240? Thanks

You could do something with the AC but it does take up valuable space, uses for fuel, adds weight to the car just for 2 weeks a year of use!
You would want the heater box from a LHD AC 240 and you can use the pump etc out of teh 940. You would probably also then if using teh 940 drier use teh rad and interooler that goes with it. Fitting that then involves a bit of chopping about rather than being a bolt in job |

Dan - That speedo drive system creates an electronic signal using magnets on the prop and then uses a motor to drive the speedo cable. |

Sorry to barge in on this thread, but I'm curious to know if the 700/900 rear mounted distributor can be used in a 240 shell?
Guessing that a 240 LH distributor is the ideal option rather than a bit of "dimpling" the bulkhead? The reason I ask is that I'm toying with a redblock turbo conversion too. I've been offered an earlier 230 ET engine which is Motronic, not LH. Just at the collecting bits stage, you understand. Jim. |
