Bosch ETM, how to test it
I've been to a breakers yard today and found a throttle body on a 03 S60 2.0T, the same model as mine and it has the same part numbers etc on the casing.
It's a Bosch unit and it needs a clean but other than that how can I tell if it's working? Is there a way to test it on a bench? maybe with a potentiometer and a battery or something similar, is this possible? I know the earlier units needed programing when they'd been fitted, do the Bosch ones need the same thing or do they just work? I understand on the earlier ETM's the fault was with the tracks wearing out, is there anything similar to check on the Bosch unit? My plan is once I've cleaned it and tested it (if possible) is to simply replace mine with this one rather than take mine apart and clean it before I put it back together. |
